Vision Restoration Therapy (VRT) has been developed in recent years. It is a therapy that requires no surgery. It functions following newly discovered facts about the brain. Scientists used to believe that certain areas of the brain could only perform specific activities. In just the past few years, however, scientists discovered that the brain actually prunes itself of neurons that are seldom used. Instead, the brain makes new pathways for transmission of signals.
